Found this unassuming place while walking the West End. It's name belies what is here....authentic Italian food! And, the food is AMAZING. Georgia greeted us and introduced us to the wonderful menu items for the day. This place was so outstanding, we actually ate there twice during our stay. I had the squid ink, lobster/cheese stuffed (rather large) tortellini with shrimp while one of my mates had a seafood linguini - perfect al dente pasta with tantalizing clams, mussels, squid and shrimp in a creamy, garlicy sauce. Both served with a crispy outside, tender inside slice of bread (so no sauce would go to waste). The second visit, we tried the deep fried pizza (almost like a cracker with still some chew), simply dressed with a red sauce and basil. Simple, but delicious, as was the fried ravioli. Other's with me had the eggplant parm, canelloni and lasagna...all scrumptious. Other than the charm and attentiveness of Georgia, the other nice surprise was the price. It was very reasonably priced and less than I would've expected. Next time I'm in Roatan, I'll be sure to dine here again!
Excellent food!!! Great service!!! Limited seating make sure you have your reservation!
We stopped in here when our kids wanted some pizza. My husband and I had low expectations for good Italian food in Roatan. We were in for a serious surprise when the food we got was some of the best we've had. Our pastas were fantastic and the kids loved their pizza. Who knew a place called the Drunken Sailor would offer such great food?!
Delicious lasagna. Very small restaurant. Reserve ahead of time if you want to ensure you have a spot.
Excellent. Food and service is great. The homemade pasta is just unbelievable. Very, very good.
We had dinner at Drunken Sailor on two evenings. Ate different pasta and tiramisu. Drunk with Pino Grigio and Chianti Classico. All the dishes were excellent and tasted very authentically Italian. The service was friendly and quick. The atmosphere relaxed.
Pasta was ok, definitely not the best. Husband enjoyed his special with italian sausage. My dinner was very disappointing, no flavor, and slimy texture and taste with a few clams thrown on top. $80 for 2 small bowls of pasta and a bottle of wine definitely not something we would do again.
Nice and quaint outdoor space for dining, staff was friendly and provided recommendations. Food was made with fresh ingredients - very tasty! Thank you!
Wow! First off we ate 4 times in 2 weeks. Our server Leone was amazing and even became our friend. The owners are kind and welcoming. Okay but the real deal is the food. OMG! Everything we had was amazing. The drinks are poured strong and well made. I would compare the lasagna to some of the best in the world. A must eat when in Roatan.
Incredibly good Italian food and great service.
If you feel like a change. Fine Italian dishes, including homemade pasta. The crostini and linguine were very good.
Loved this place! As a vegan traveling to Roatán I didn’t know what I’d find for food options! Drunken Sailor’s menu was SO clear and made it really easy to order vegan food, multiple options and all clearly marked! It was also DELICIOUS! They even have vegan cheese for the pizza ❤️
We ended up eating here twice during our one-week stay. The pasta and Sicilian couscous are excellent. Vegan options. Staff friendly, chef came and spoke to us.
Tasty food and friendly staff. A little bit pricey but worth it
I had to go to Roatan to taste the best tagliatelle I’ve had, who would believe that don’t get fooled by the name or look, this is really a nice spot with excellent food and staff. They also have lots of gluten free options. Go check it out ✌
A very good serveur and the good pas si good
Everytime we visit Roatan we have to visit. I have the hardest timeaking a choice because all of the food is delicious! April Spritz and a mushroom pasta are my go to dishes. Thank you for all the special memories!
Awesome little restaurant located in the heart of it all in West End. Great server (Leon) & great chef (Lorenzo). 3 of us had lunch and it was awesome…
Had to pleasure of meeting Lorenzo the owner and chef. As well as Leon , the friendly server:). I had the squid ink seafood pasta. It was delicious and pasta was perfectly cooked. Don't let the name fulled ya! The Drunken Sailor. Lol! The Italian good was delish!
Loved this super cute little Italian restaurant! Reservation recommended. There are so many specials to try! We loved the fried pizza, the calamari was nice too. All of the pastas were delicious. We had the squid ink pasta with clams and the penne vodka, the vodka sauce was some of the best I've had. Don't skip dessert! Awesome tiramisu, mascarpone ice cream and of course espresso with sambuca
Really enjoyed the food and drinks. Not perfect, but impressive for a small island. Authentic italian owners. Requested a cross of aperol & campari spritz and it was excellent, had it three times. Pasta was good, particularly the special San Dominico raviolo.
This is excellent food, served by genuine people, without pretentiousness. I go here to get pasta every time I am in Roatan.
Omg! Amazing pizza and service!
Lorenzo I CAN'T call you!!!!!
Amazing meal! Don't hesitate. Accepts cash, card, PayPal. My pasta was amazing and my husband's pizza was perfect. It seems unassuming but it was so good!
Awesome traditional Italian food! We always come for dinner a couple times a week when on vacation and the food is always delicious. I almost don’t want to recommend the tiaramasu as it is perfection and limited so less left for me if in town but seriously it’s fantastic. They always have a board with multiple specials and you can’t go wrong.
Enjoyed all the food. Good sized portions!
Great Italian food, especially the octopus and potatoes.
The waiter Carlos was the highlight of our night. He gave such good recommendations and was very patient with us. It made our trip and experience in Roatan. Great Italian food!
Some of the best Italian food we’ve had, which was not what we expected to find in Honduras! Highly recommended!
We came midday so had the place almost to ourselves. The food was wonderful - took some leftovers for later so we would have room for the delicious tiramisu! Locals recommended this place and I am so glad they did. Refreshing limoncello spritz hit the spot for a drink.
Cute spot run by the sweetest family, one of the owners was waiting tables with a baby strapped to her. Perfectly al dente pasta and tasty pizza as well. Added plus they take credit cards.
Really good Italian food. Homemade pasta, tiramisu, and the salad was incredible if you’re craving something fresh and healthy
Great little restaurant. All made fresh. Fresh pasta, fresh salads and amazing bread and pizza.
Great Italian food! Wish I could order delivery to Florida. Pasta was perfectly prepared and paired wonderfully with wine. It was a little warm sitting near kitchen, but still well worth it.
A hidden gem in Roatán. Despite its name, it is a top-notch Italian restaurant. It is a small, cozy place with many culinary specialties run by a very friendly Italian couple. The food surprised me a lot and I could say that it was the most tasty and elaborate that I tried, comparing it with many other Italian restaurants in other countries.
What a pleasantly surprise the Drunken Sailor was. The food was simply marvelous. The owner/chef is originally from Bologna and his food reflects this region. Great wine. I recommend this restaurant highly
Just ate here with a group of 21. Great service, good drinks, and owners are very attentive and personable. Food was AMAZING
I recommend this to all my guests that stay at Villas De Cisnes ROATAN
The best restaurant in the area: excellent service, very good quality food and a cozy place. I strongly recommend it!
