Try the Phat Me Muang with shrimp, OMG! Delicious. Next level.
Terrible service to local people
great service, great location, great atmosphere and environment, very clean, but, the $21 green curry i ordered was a joke. it's more like a green curry flavored soup with incorrect seasonings. I have traveled to 20+ countries last two years, and tried different versions of non-authentic green curries from all over the world. this is the first time i feel obligated to leave a bad review. I don't think a Thai restaurant in SF or NYC would even charge $21 for green curry of this quality.
TLDR: My pad Thai was very tasty but not authentic. The service was terrific, and the vibe was good.nnThere's a really nice bar upstairs with air conditioning and comfortable seating, but I chose to dine outside on the second level for a beautiful view of the sunset.nnI felt like having something different tonight and Thai food is something I love. I've spent a great deal of time in Thailand and I'm a bit of a foodie - I've even taken cooking classes in Thailand. That is why I am qualified to say that the pad Thai is not authentic but very tasty and a good sized portion.nnMany places around the world fall into the trap of making pad Thai that is covered in sauce, like Thai spaghetti or something. Pad Thai is supposed to be cooked in a crazy hot wok and the noodles should absorb virtually all of the ingredients, and with them, the flavor. I would describe the desired result as glistening, not goopy. In this case there was a lot of sauce BUT it was delicious so I enjoyed my meal very much. I appreciated the excellent service which was friendly and attentive.nnI plan to go back but next time I'll go a little earlier so I can relax in the bar upstairs before dining outside to enjoy the sunset.
The food is so delicious. The prices are above average, but totally worth the experience. You won't be disappointed. I highly recommend.
We have eaten in many Thai restaurants around the world. I also like to cook Thai food myself. The green curries at Blue Elephant Thai have nothing, absolutely nothing, about Thai cuisine. Disney Land. Really bad. No coconut milk, no coriander, no galangal, no lemongrass, no lime. Instead, a kind of herb sauce with way too much sugar.nAll of this at outrageously high prices.
Great Thai food in a great island setting, my pad Thai was great, wife had fried rice and it was good as well, sat outside and watched the sunset during dinner.
My wife and I went to the Thai Blue Elephant for dinner. We sat upstairs in the open air restaurant. She ordered the Pad Thai and I ordered the Thailand Fried Rice, both dishes were so tasty. Service was good and we really enjoyed our time there.
Tasted like I was back in Thailand! ❤️ And the Pina Coladas were very generous.
Pad Thai was unique and delicious. Reminded me of Thai food in Chiang Mai. Also the Panang curry was great, Spicy Level 2 was medium spicy for me.
Yes, stop by and get a reservation ahead of time. We only had a 20 minute wait for our table but then they were serving a giant group and we ended up not getting our food until almost 2 hours after we arrived at the restaurant. The meals we had (I dont remember but we had maybe a pad thai and a sweet and sour shrimp and a few more and everything we saw on other tables looked good) were pretty good and we were quite happy with the food when all was said and done. Just be prepared for a wait - at least the upstairs is airconditioned!
I was looking for some asian food since I wasn't really feeling the best. It was raining a lot, but people were still dining inside so I assumed that was allowed (upstairs was closed though for lunch). When I got the food, they gave it to me in a take out bag for some reason. I never said I was looking for take out, and they never asked. I was looking to dine in, so I just ate it anyways. Other people were dining inside, and the 2nd couple that came in after me got food on proper plates so I was super confused.nnThe food was ok, a bit overpriced and small portions but it hit the spot.
The night club next door was loud.
The staff was very nice.. unfortunately our food was mediocre at best.nThey egg rolls were very small and greasy. My Pad Thai was so sweet.. and my friends beef and broccoli was bland. Won’t return
The Pad Thai is out of this world!!!! very very good and recommend
Excellent service and delicious food as always!
Delicious food I recommend it to
We had the three flavor grouper and it was fantastic! Pleasant environment and good service! Highly recommend!
It was an awkward experience from the start. Restaurant was dead, love that. Service was rough, literally awkward from the beginning and I used to serve and bartend in the states and never leave such bad reviews. Ordered Pad thai and Panang curry, the noodles were SO HARD! Over priced experience. Sad this was my last meal on the beautiful island ️
Incredible service, food and presentation, 100% satisfied.
Excellent food, attention and view
Great spot over looking the water
Waitress was really rude, bad customer service!
Good food and good service. We were a large table and were served without any problem.
Absolutely incredible food and even better service. So friendly and made great recommendations. Best food we've had on the island. Beef broccoli was so good. Friends had herbal beef, pad thai, and shrimp fried rice; all incredible. Chicken satay was phenomenal and the peanut sauce made it even better. Highly recommend!
The shrimp fried rice and egg rolls was out of this world.
Went there last night for my birthday dinner and were pretty disappointed. Mainly, the service was non-existent. After we ordered, we didn't see our server again until he cleared our plates and left again. Never checked in on us (after someone else brought out the food), nothing. We needed water, we wanted to order more drinks, we wanted to order dessert. Nada. We ended up leaving and going elsewhere for that.nnWe thought maybe they were short staffed, but no, the waiter was downstairs laughing with the kitchen staff with almost no other tables.nnThe Pad Thai was surprisingly excellent. The massaman curry lacking; only had chicken, no veggies/potatoes and thin broth. The green curry almost zero chicken (I guess it was all in the other curry LOL). The panang curry was good.nnFor a nicer, pricier place we expected more.nnOh, and when we were seated we were each given two menus. It wasn't until we were ordering that we were told that they didn't have almost all of the items on the smaller menu (which we wanted). Just more weird bad service.
Highly recommend the Pad Thai
This place had a nice atmosphere but it wasn’t worth the almost an 1hr and half wait for food. Our server didn’t check in until we almost got our food. They were nice and offered us a free drink each but it still didn’t make up for the wait unfortunately and the food wasn’t worth the wait either. I would most likely not return. Also this place is pretty pricey. I eat Thai all the time and never spent this much.
the location is great, but that’s the only thing good about this place… the food is way overpriced and not good at all. Do yourself a favor and avoid this tourist trap.
We were hoping to sit up top but it was probably not available for lunch. Ordered the thai fried chicken appetizers, pad thai and red curry. All good and flavorful. Portion was not top big, just right. Pad thai on the sweeter side but still good.
The green curry was very good. The staff was friendly and helpful. Loved sitting upstairs overlooking the ocean.
Had a fantastic dinner came from out of town and was really thrilled with how delicious the meal was. Met the owner Nathan it's fantastic guy I highly recommend this place whenever you visit Roatan
Food was insanely expensive for what you get, literally two tiny egg rolls for $9 USD. The pad Thai was good but again for $20 USD very expensive for the portion.
Lobster pad Thai was amazing! We also enjoyed the Thai iced tea- I think that’s what it was called- it was orange and different than anything I’ve ever had. Beautiful sunset spot. A bit pricey but it was worth it!
The food here was hit or miss. We started with the Thai basil cocktail and sangria, which were both delicious. I ordered shrimp spring rolls as an app and it seemed like one single shrimp was cut up and put on top. My partner got the lobster fried rice and that was absolutely wonderful. While I got the shrimp panang curry which was just okay. Perhaps just skip the shrimp dishes and you’ll be okay! Dinner was also pricey $100USD for the items mentioned above.
Chicken Pad thai was solid, curry soup was on point, and it had just the right heat for everyone at the table.
Decent Thai right on the strip in West End. Heat level on the low side, but the flavors are legit. Drinks well made.
Friendly service. We had the spring rolls which were ok. I had the spicy shrimp (#28) - listed as a 3 on their spice level. It was good but not that spicy for me. I'd call it a 1 on the spice level. My husband had the chicken massaman curry. He said it was good. Drinks were good.
