Very good food - European combined with Caribbean flair. Great drinks and very nice service.nThe boss puts a lot of effort into her guests - the beautiful Caribbean ambience completes everything.
El Castillo is a true gem on Utila. Everything from service to ambience is amazing and the food was just delicious - really made us feel at home :) ate there twice and would highly recommend!

This was a really fantastic dining experience and I’m so glad I got to eat here! Everything was delicious: I had the salsa and chip amuse bouche, banana curry soup, garden salad with really great dressing, the pork loin, and caramel bananas. I also had a starfruit juice cocktail that was so different and yummy. The service and atmosphere were lovely and felt upscale while still honoring the vibe of the island.nnThe most impressive part for me was the fact that it’s all cooked in an open air kitchen and primarily on a residential stove. The brilliance that comes forth from talented, passionate people is a joy of life. Thank you so much for the amazing food and experience!
We did not expect to have Austrian food in Utila Lucía was a fantastic host and explained really well what all the dishes brought and what we could expect from them. We had great drinks, enjoyed an amazing meal and a lovely dessert. Will definitely return!
My husband and I enjoyed a lovely, romantic garden dinner here on our honeymoon! The ambiance is unbeatable. El Castillo has an impressive wine and beer list and the food was incredible. Luzia (the owner) and her team made sure we understood the menu options. It is apparent they are passionate about cooking and serving. They even sent out a special dessert for us for our celebration.

Spectacular dining experience. Equal to what we had at Mammut. Excellent service, pacing and value. Incredible flavors throughout the evening. Your entree includes a soup, salad and dessert. Not sure if we’d order again the shrimp or lionfish starters. Pork chop was first class, super juicy and tender. My wife loved the Austrian Ravioli. Our server, from Charleston SC, was the best server of any Utila restaurant we’ve dined at in the past two weeks. Outdoor setting was amazing. Loved the owners’ dogs and cat!

Beautiful restaurant nestled in a garden like setting, the food is amazing and unlike anything else you can get on the island. Highly recommend the Sausage skillet, Kingfish, and Lobster. Good idea to make reservations at this highly sought after restaurant.

As an Austrian you might imagine how surprised and excited I was that there is an Austrian restaurant in Utila :) This place is gorgeous! The atmosphere in the garden reminded me of the beer gardens in austria that are a very popular go to place in summer. The service was very good, we got little Appetizers while we we’re waiting for our food and the food itself was delicious! They even had Schnaps an alcohol that is usually served in austria after a meal to help digest it :) if you’re looking for a little variety eating out you should definitely visit this place.

El Castillo is a beautiful spot on the island. A locally sourced, always changing menu, amazing ambience and a fantastic selection of wine and drinks, it’s one of the best fine dining spots on the island. Book ahead if you can!
It's a menu show. Although its focus is Austrian food, its flavor is interesting. Quite striking dishes and unique flavors that are reflected in the cost. They serve a starter salad (in the end it's quite a meal when you order a main course). Recommended, yes, they do not open every day and it is recommended to make a reservation.

Excellent food in cozy garden atmosphere! We heard that this was the best restaurant on the island so we went here for New Year’s Eve. The Bodden family did a wonderful job of making us feel welcome in their restaurant surrounded by a very well-maintained garden. The service and food were exceptional. Even though it is a bit more pricey than other places on the islands, you definitely get your money’s worth and will have a good time. We enjoyed the live music and overall atmosphere and couldn’t have found a better place to celebrate the end of the year. All of our expectations were exceeded and we can highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys good food!
Best food on the island. Hands down. Home grown food right on the island. It's pricey for the island, but absolutely worth it. If you want a nice steak and fresh vegetables, this is the place to go.
